TrailBound ("we", "our", "the app") is an off-road riding community app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and username. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from those services.
Profile Information: You may optionally provide a bio, location, profile photo, and details about your machines (type, make, model, year).
Location Data: With your permission, we collect GPS data to show nearby trails and to record your rides. During ride recording, we collect detailed location data including coordinates, altitude, speed, and heading at regular intervals. You can deny location permission at any time through your device settings.
Photos: You may upload profile photos, trail photos, chat images, and machine photos. Trail photos may include location metadata.
Messages: We store messages you send in direct and group chats, including text, images, and shared locations.
Ride & Trail Data: Information about rides you create or join (title, date, location, route, participants) and trails you contribute to.
Device Information: We collect device type, operating system, and app version for crash reporting and stability improvements through Sentry.
Push Notification Tokens: With your permission, we store a device token to send you notifications about messages, rides, and group activity.

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) servers. We use Firebase security rules to restrict data access. Passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text.
Ride tracks are also cached locally on your device for offline access.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages are retained for the duration of the chat's existence. Crash reports are retained according to Sentry's retention policies.

When you delete your account, we remove your profile, machines, push tokens, and authentication credentials. Shared content (messages, trail photos, ride history) may be retained in anonymized form.
TrailBound is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
